Salt is part of Druskininkai’s identity, and Druskos Studija turns that story into a memorable creative experience. Artists Aušra and Tauras Česnulevičius invite visitors to handle, mould and sculpt salt while learning why mineral-rich water and salt are so closely connected with the resort.

The official listing describes a two-hour “Salt Lesson” and says sessions can be arranged in Lithuanian, English, Polish and Russian. You can also see the studio’s collection of salt sculptures and samples of resort salt. It is a calm, accessible activity and a useful indoor option when the weather does not invite a long walk. For a more intimate encounter with regional craft, visit Dzub Dzub Studio-Gallery. Wood sculptor Gintautas Akstinas presents old woodworking tools, Baltic symbols and Christian imagery, while the studio’s activities include souvenir carving, knitting and traditional handicrafts. Depending on the arrangement, the experience may also include homemade bread and herbal tea.

5. Try traditional blacksmithing at Malūno Kalvė

If you are travelling by car and want a more physical craft experience, Malūno Kalvė offers an introduction to traditional blacksmithing with practical participation. The forge is set beside a restored water mill in Leipalingis and displays metalwork alongside the workshop activity.
