Seeing Druskininkai from the air sounds unforgettable, but visitors need an accurate picture of what is actually available. As of August 2026, we could not verify a regular, scheduled hot-air-balloon sightseeing service operating from central Druskininkai. A flight may still be possible through a licensed Lithuanian balloon operator prepared to arrange a private flight in the region, but it must be confirmed directly and depends on weather, airspace and a suitable launch area.

Druskininkai is building a new bus station with a tethered helium balloon as its signature attraction. According to the official municipal tourism announcement published in 2026, the balloon is planned to rise from inside the building to a height of up to 200 metres and carry as many as 30 people before returning to the same point.
This planned attraction differs from a conventional hot-air-balloon flight in three important ways: it uses helium rather than heated air, it remains attached by a cable, and it returns to its starting point instead of travelling with the wind.
