Travelling from Israel to Druskininkai is straightforward when you plan the journey in two stages: first fly to Lithuania, then continue to the resort by car, private transfer or bus. For most travellers, Tel Aviv (TLV) to Vilnius (VNO) is the simplest route.

Quick answer: choose a direct Tel Aviv–Vilnius flight when it operates, then allow about 1 hour 40 minutes by car or roughly 2–3 hours by public transport from Vilnius Airport to Druskininkai. Flight timetables can change, so always verify your dates with the airline before booking onward transport.

Vilnius Airport departures for travellers arriving from Israel

Direct flights from Tel Aviv to Vilnius

Lithuanian Airports reported an expanded Tel Aviv–Vilnius programme in 2026. Direct services have been operated by Arkia, Israir and Wizz Air, with frequencies varying by airline and season. A nonstop flight takes close to four hours.

Because services between Israel and Europe can be adjusted at short notice, use the airlines’ official booking pages and the Vilnius Airport departures information for your exact travel dates. If no direct flight suits you, practical one-stop itineraries are often available through Warsaw, Riga, Frankfurt or another European hub.

Vilnius Airport to Druskininkai

Option 1: rental car

This is normally the fastest and most flexible choice. Druskininkai is approximately 125–130 km from Vilnius Airport, and the drive usually takes around 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours. Follow the A4 road south through Varėna. Driving is especially convenient for families, guests with substantial luggage, or travellers planning day trips around Dzūkija.

Option 2: private transfer

A pre-booked transfer offers the easiest door-to-door journey after a flight. The driver can meet you at Vilnius Airport and take you directly to Domi Lini. This option is particularly useful for a family or small group, for late arrivals, or when several suitcases make bus connections inconvenient. Ask about the vehicle size, child seats, waiting time and the complete price before confirming.

Option 3: airport bus plus intercity coach

For the most economical route, travel from Vilnius Airport to Vilnius Bus Station, then take a direct coach to Druskininkai.

  1. At the airport, take city bus 1 or 2 towards the station area. Route 88 also connects the airport with central Vilnius. Current routes and payment information are available from JUDU.
  2. Walk to Vilnius Bus Station and board a direct coach to Druskininkai.
  3. Check times and buy tickets through Autobusubilietai.lt. Kautra operates comfortable services on this route.

The intercity coach usually takes about 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes, depending on the service. Leave a sensible buffer between the scheduled flight arrival and coach departure for immigration, baggage collection and the airport-to-station journey.

Could you fly to Kaunas instead?

Seasonal or charter flights from Israel have also used Kaunas Airport. Kaunas can be a workable alternative, particularly for an organised package or an attractive fare, but onward public transport is generally less direct than from Vilnius. The drive from Kaunas Airport to Druskininkai is roughly 140 km and usually takes around two hours. Confirm the exact airport shown on your ticket: VNO means Vilnius and KUN means Kaunas.

What about travelling via Poland?

For travellers combining Lithuania with Poland, flying to Warsaw and continuing by rental car can make sense. However, it is a much longer road journey than arriving in Vilnius. There is no direct passenger train to Druskininkai, so a rail itinerary still requires a final bus, transfer or car connection.

Practical tips for travellers from Israel

  • Book the flexible part first. Check the international flight before fixing a non-refundable transfer or coach ticket.
  • Check entry requirements. Use official Lithuanian and Israeli government guidance for the documents and conditions that apply on your travel date.
  • Allow extra connection time. A two-hour buffer is more comfortable when changing from an international flight to an intercity coach.
  • Download offline directions. Mobile data is widely available in Lithuania, but an offline map is useful immediately after landing.
  • Tell us your arrival plan. If you are staying at Domi Lini, share your expected arrival time so check-in can be coordinated smoothly.
